Carpooling to clear the air...literally!

One of our SIMPLE steps is “Leave Your Car At Home.” An excellent way to do this is to join with local neighbors, friends or coworkers and create a carpool for your daily commute.

Carpools work like this: a driver volunteers to drive their car to and from work a few days a week. Drivers in the carpool could rotate days or weeks or only carpool certain days of the week.

Many regional agencies conduct rideshare programs to help rides arrange rides with other like-minded commuters.

Here’s how riders benefit in carpools:
-Catch up on emails, read or just relax
-Use HOV lanes for a speedier drive
-Less stress commuting to and from work
-Save 1500 pounds of air pollution just by changing your routine even a few days a week
-Split fuel costs by sharing a carpool
-Lower the amount of gasoline and pollution by using just one vehicle

See it's that SIMPLE!
